Branson, MO – The Pacific Southwest Champion, from Mililani, HI, cruises to victory number two in pool play. Propelled by dominant bats and stellar pitching, Pacific Southwest was able to run-rule Iowa, 13-0, after the top of the 4th.
Pacific Southwest bats were booming and dinging from start to finish. After the 1st inning, Pacific Southwest took the lead 5-0. This was sparked by the red-hot bat and game MVP, #21 Chyler Desilva. Desilva crushed a 2-run HR over the left field fence which started scoring. Desilva finished the game 2-2 with 2 HR, 5 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Desilve was substituted in his 3rd at-bat.
After the game, Desilva said, “I was very relaxed and just trying to go up there and do my best and the ball ended up going where I wanted it too.”
Starting pitcher, Zechariah Takahashi, was untouchable and received great support from his offense. Before exiting the game in the 4th, Takahashi was perfect. Through three innings, Takahashi struck out 6, gave up 0, and shutout Iowa. Takahashi exited the game with a total of 37 pitches with makes him able to pitch tomorrow, if Pacific Southwest needs him.
Jaden Miranda came in to relieve Takahashi in the Top of the 4th. Miranda gave up one hit and stuck out one which sealed the victory for Pacific Southwest.

Hayden Lyness was named game MVP for Iowa. Lyness had a spectacular diving catch in center while contributing Iowa’s lone hit.
Pacific Southwest finished the game with nine hits to Iowa’s one. It was a great performance by both teams.
Pacific Southwest looks to continue their dominance in pool play and will take on Colorado tomorrow at 12:30 pm on Chicago. Iowa looks to rebound tomorrow vs Middle Atlantic at 12:30 on St. Louis.
