Japan defeated Bahamas 4-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Naoki Takahashi struck out Ayden Johnson to finish off the game.
Japan fired up the offense in the first inning, when Kaisei Tokumaru homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
One bright spot for Bahamas was a single by Denajh Williams in the second inning.
Taisei Ito got the start for Japan. He lasted five innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five.
Alexander Eneas was on the hill for Bahamas. He allowed two hits and two runs over two-thirds of an inning, walking one. Tejahri Wilson, Jayden Brown, and Tavano Baker each contributed in relief for Bahamas.
Japan smacked two home runs on the day. Tokumaru went yard in the first inning. Kou Hamatani had a long ball in the third inning.
Japan saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game. Tokumaru and Hamatani all managed multiple hits for Japan. Tokumaru led Japan with three hits in three at bats.
